Hi. My name is Kevin and twenty years ago, my family and I moved to Washington from New York City. While I was busy starting high school, my parents decided to open a small cafe on the first floor of the old Columbia Bank building on 11th and Broadway in downtown Tacoma. Having no previous experience in running a cafe, mom and dad did whatever worked. From fried rice to blended coffee drinks, they did it all and attracted a loyal following of regulars. I would help out in the summers and on holidays.

Six years later, we decided to open a second location and I was in charge of the opening and menu. Another six years go by and I needed a change and moved on to work in management at a local, large company. After five years, work was no longer fulfilling and something drew me back to downtown Tacoma. Hence, Third Space was born.

Our goal at Third Space is to be your home away from home or home away from work. A place you come to enjoy a delicious coffee, comforting meal, and enjoy conversation. Along with creating an inviting and inclusive atmosphere, we want to support the local community. We do our best to use local vendors, local artists, and local ingredients.
